Chris studied illustration at WMU in Kalamazoo, and College for Creative Studies, Detroit. She worked as a full time Illustrator for the US Army for the first 6 years of her career, doing concept vehicle illustration, presentation design and exhibit design and fabrication for the Pentagon and TACOM.  

Chris transitioned to freelancing in the 1990s to make way for a growing family, that eventually numbered 5 children. She's illustrated for Modern Publishing, Mighty Books, StoryPlus, BNP Media, Highlights for Children and a number of children's periodicals like Shine for Girls. She was a sponsored Lamb artist for Rochester Hills and painted a reading themed lamb during school hours in the lobby of Deerfield Elementary.

Chris and Kevin enjoy keeping up with their busy and sometimes crazy family ~ for Chris, that currently includes homeschooling her youngest, whole food cooking and baking for constantly coming and going highschool and college age kids, natural health and bicycling.
